London players in national under 16 teams (Acqua Pradis Winter Cup), Italy

International experience for Regional Squad members

The Acqua Pradis Winter Cup is an annual event held, as the name and language suggest, at this time of year in Italy. This year, it will be staged in the town of Pordenone, north of Venice, between Friday 27th December and Sunday 29th December. Volleyball England has announced the England under 16 boys’ and girls’ team players who will be competing there. London volleyball wishes them success.

London is proud that a quarter of the girls squad are members of its under 15 regional squad: Alexys Archie and Sylvie Stokes who play for Graveney & Malory Eagles and Lisa Canevari, a Richmond member. Lisa was a gold medal winner in the 2019 Volleyball England under16 National Championships while Sylvie and Alexys picked up silver as Richmond beat Graveney & Malory Eagles in the Final The team will be led by head coach, Darren Lewis

London will be providing the other coach. In charge of the boys will be Richmond’s Luis Bello with two of the players in the England squad, his son, Enrique and Peter Soczewka both of whom play for Richmond, of course, and Nahome Tewelde who has been playing for Malory Eagles EBC in the London League. That makes it a quarter of the boys squad from London too.
