Spikers setting the pace

Mid season review Men’s 1A Division (London Volleyball League)
But Besty Boys boyant

Spikers are setting the pace in this drive for promotion to the Premier Division and, with a game in hand, are just a point behind the leaders. The name of those leaders will be a surprise to some, Besty Boys being almost newcomers to the league hailing from Bromley on the edges of the greater conurbation. Only VPS are without a win but they took Inter Sharks to five sets in a very close match so should not be taken lightly. ULU students who went into the holiday in sixth place are also a threat, having played only four times and won three of the matches.

We will be able to assess Spikers’ continuation as pace-setters as soon as part two of the season begins for on 13th January they are due to entertain seventh placed Malory Golden Eagles. A couple of days later Inter Sharks will be at home to KS Osemka. With a near identical record and in mid table, it promises to be an exciting match. The rest of the division will be playing on 18th. Besty Boys have home advantage against ULU who, with only one loss in four games, look a threat to the divisional leaders. Flaming Six Wolves will be at home to VPS and keen to continue their challenge.
