IBB Polonia starts the season off with an emphatic victory

Following an excellent pre-season period, IBB Polonia London officially started the season on Saturday 8th October in the second round of the National Cup of England. Greg Niski’s players won 3:0 and with that progressed to the next round of the competition.

Following a month of hard trainings, IBB Polonia London is up and running in the new season. The Londoners began the season in bombastic fashion beating the visiting team from Coventry 3:0. The game started and ended under the complete control of the home team and set their stall out as the team to beat this season as usual. Three dominating sets were completed in a very quick tempo and this allowed the head coach to make a number of exploratory changes in each set allowing each player some court time.

The victory is an excellent signal of the upcoming games where IBB Polonia London aim to finish all competitions in top place. Thanks to a significant change in personnel this season, The Club looks in excellent form to compete for trophies and also to develop the younger members of the team. Spectators will see a number of new but experienced players in the team in addition to some faces from last season plus a crop of enthusiastic talented youngsters.

„The first game is behind us and we have our first win! I am proud of our players who played a great level of volleyball. It was evident that the hunger has grown following a summer break away from indoor volleyball. Everyone was very motivated from the start to the end. We have shown the level that we can play at and the visitors had no chance against us in this mood. We thank the young team from Coventry for their hard fight, and wish them the best this season. We celebrated on Saturday’s evening and will return to our hard work, because this is just the start. There are many Super League matches to play, but looking at our squad, and the hard work we have invested so far, I am very optimistic.” said Head Coach IBB Polonia London, Grzegorz Niski.

In the mean time, IBB Polonia returns to training to prepare for the first league game. Despite the fact that the Super League has started, the multi title holders don’t start their campaign until 22nd October at home at 4.30pm.
